This thermometer is SUPER slow. I had it all ready on travel and needed to check my 6 month olds temp rectally. Unfortunately 1 1/2 - 2 minutes later, nothing. I was so frustrated I tried to break it in half! I couldn't so that's a positive point to this thermometer. When I tried this product on myself it did take a long time (2 minutes and that is a generous estimate) and it was 2 degrees low (taken orally). I contacted the company and they found they were having the same problem. Maybe it was a bad batch? I purchased it in May 2009. They refunded my money (thank you), but I was still in the market for a good digital thermometer. I trusted the positive reviews on the BD Thermometer but wasn't happy with the product myself.

The last Polar HRM I had died and I assumed it was the battery. Nope the whole thing died. So, I decided to get a Timex this time. I liked that the watch battery has a long life and you can change it yourself, vs mail it back to Polar. Also, the chest strap takes a AAA battery!! You don't need to mail it anywhere!

The use of this HRM is a little tricky. You HAVE to use the CHRONO feature or all you get is HR, no calories, etc. Now that I figured that out, I love this HRM. It gets a signal much faster than the Polar, and it seems accurate. I love the zone feature and the recovery feature that keeps track of how much your HR drops in the 1 or 2 minutes after you stop your workout.

I have yet to see a scale in the same price range that has the same level of accuracy, granularity and function.

The scale has every feature needed in food prep (tare/lb/oz/lb.oz/kg/g/baker's math) and nothing more (why do some scales tell you what time it is now?). The 17+ lb. (8 Kg) capacity allows for a large/heavy mixing bowl to first be tared when weighing and combining a large volume a multiple ingredients. The large weighing surface and backlit LED keeps the weight visible and function buttons accessible when weighing items larger than a cereal bowl (something that most scales in this price range cannot claim). Aside the from the overall design, weight capacity and granularity, the baker's math (percentage function) may be this scale's most useful feature!

The only negative I've experienced is the scale's quick auto shut-off time when running on battery powered. This can easily be resolved by using an AC adapter.

Bottom line: I would by this food scale over any other in the <$100 price range (and I wouldn't by a $100+ scale for my home kitchen).

I really like the foot pod. I'm in the Air Force and run quite often to keep myself in shape, and I have always found it hard to gauge my speed... usually I have to use lap times, but by the time I make a lap, I'm either already getting worn out because I ran too fast or I realize I'm going too slow and I have to really push on the next 5 laps to make up for it. With the Suunto T3 + this foot pod, I can easily watch my speed and adjust throughout my run. I have found that the foot pod is a little bit off - about .01 mile per 1/4 mile, but I have easily adapted to that.

I also find it really nice to be able to run anywhere I want and know the exact distance I went. Super nice.
