This is a worthless piece of trash. The battery is constantly running dead and needing to be replaced. The batteries are not cheap. Additionally the reading is not accurate. I have tried temperature readings for myself, my husband, and my two year old son and they are constantly off 3 to 5 degrees with an oral thermometer. When I contacted the company they told me I was just holding the thermometer in the wrong position. This is made in China and is truthfully worth $2 or less. Do not buy this. The Company doesn't stand behing their product and instead wants the consumer to pay for shipping and handling just so they can send you another worthless item.
