We use these products in a prison system. Larger cuffs do not fit through the bars, nor do many of the inmate's arms. These units are very handy to obtain relaible vital signs (I spent alot of time comparing the reading to routine BP cuffs. They were very compatible in the range as long as you followed instructions) It also beats holding out someone's arm and have an inmate try to get it close to your breast as you try to help him hold a stable position. That doesn't happen with these cuffs. I expect to see more of these in the future..they are less painfull and much easier to haul around with you. This product requires almost 2 minutes to calibrate. In addition we believe it "errors" on the high side. While this may be the better direction to error it really does not give you much confidence in the device. We have experimented with it a number of times with respect to our weight, the length of time between drinks, meals, etc. and each time we felt the readings were far too high based on the BAC tables. Frankly with the readings from this device we would never be able to have a drink with meals when we are not at home and/or planning to drive ! It is possible that we are not following the protocol for testing close enough in which case that is too demanding to make it worth your while.
