I purchased this scale about a year ago in order to weigh my cats. This scale is very accurate. It's perfect for cats- my cats don't mind it at all. I think the flat design is a better choice for cats than some other scales that have curved edges or raised borders. My cats can just walk right onto the scale and lay down without problems. I've never had to change the batteries, which is another plus. I purchased this a year ago when it was about $30 cheaper-- not sure why the price went up so much.
