We got this because my wife hadn't felt the baby move for a couple of weeks and we made a couple trips to the doctor to have it checked out. Turns out the placenta was in the front which I guess absorbed the kicks so she couldn't feel it. We bought this so we could hopefully listen to the baby's heart beat every now and then to make sure everything was ok without going to the doctor every few days.
We indeed can hear the heartbeat as well as movement in the womb with little trouble. It's great for my wife if she feels worried or hasn't felt it move for a while to be able to put on the headphones and listen to his heart pump away.
The box advertises that the device can record and play back the heartbeat, which I found to be a little deceiving. It doesn't actually record anything itself, it just comes with a cord that has a 1/8th inch headphone jack on each end so that you can plug it into a recorder or computer of some kind and record the sound. I did end up plugging it into my Mac though and recorded the heartbeat onto my computer and was able to post it on our blog for our family to listen to which was really a cool thing to be able to do.
Overall it's very worth the money and we are really happy with the purchase. There are a lot more expensive fetal monitors on Amazon and I admittedly haven't used them, but I can't imagine them doing much that this one can't do for a much lower price.Get more detail about Angelsound fetal doppler.
