I've had this monitor for well over 3 years and the original battery has finally died. The functions are fairly easy to figure out through trial and error. I've had to do this because I have no idea where the manual is. It does not have a backlight which is a little annoying. Gym equipment does pick up the chest strap signal which is good. The bad is that wireless equipment makes the reading go crazy. I can not use my wireless phone or laptop near it while the wireless signal is activated.
