We got this bedwetting alarm pad for our daughter, who is autistic and developmentally delayed, because she had started wetting in bed and going back to sleep. We didn't get a remote alarm since we have a baby monitor in her room (so we hear the alarm via the baby monitor) and our goal was to have her wake up if she got wet. It has worked very well and contributed to her being dry at night now for over 4 months (not quite ready to take it out of the bed yet!). She even got up in the night to go to the bathroom recently. We were careful to put the pad in a cotton pillowcase, then put a thin cotton blanket over it (to reduce the noise the pad makes when she moves around in bed), then use cotton sheets. The only false alarms we have gotten are when she leaps into bed onto it - occasionally it will go off then. However, we have never had false alarms during the night. The pad makes soft crinkly sounds when she moves around in bed (especially when first getting into bed), but the sound hasn't bothered her (and we put a thin cotton blanket over it to reduce the sound).
