I had an older model Homedics glass scale that had cheap plastic legs that broke after a couple of years ($70+ at JCPenny with $50 gift card for X-mas). This SC-405 scale was sent to replace it, but keep in mind that to qualify for the LIFETIME WARRANTY, you have to ship them the scales, and these scales aren't light, so you're looking to spend around $8-14 to ship. 3 months and 6 days later, the new scale SC-405 stopped working right. It was a little cooler in the house 70 degrees at eye level, maybe 62 or so on the ground. The scale would not zero and repeated error messages after the weight fluctuated up 60 lbs and down 40 lbs. I warmed the scale up lightly and it still would not work. It's nice to have the glass scales, but you need something that works, not just something that looks pretty. Wal-Mart would've gotten me a cheap working scale just for the price of shipping. If HoMedics will not reimburse the cost of shipping the scale, the only choice I have is to buy a new one and wait until they upgrade their scales to file for lifetime warranty and hope the Chinese schoolgirls have had some proper college training. I tried off-and-on for the first 2 days owning this to get a good and consistant reading. The readings were almost always high, or occasionally ridiculously low. I was about to send it back when I decided to try something. In the quick reference instructions, they show a picture of something supporting the forearm to keep it at heart level, but don't say what this item is in the text. If you read the full instruction manual (RTFM, STUPID!!!!) they call it an armrest. Later in the manual they suggest using an object such as the carry case to support your arm.

Turns out, the top of the small carrying case the monitor comes in is nicely curved and angled to fit your forearm, and when I set it up like in the picture, the readings became consistant, and the readings came quite close to my other, larger electronic monitor with arm-cuff and bulb (which I have had checked out at my doctor's office, and is very accurate).

So it seems that this unit likes to be used only one way, and if you do that, it appears to work quite well. Now I like it, and am going to keep it. It is interesting how sensitive it is to position compared to my other monitor, however.Get more detail about Wristech Blood Pressure Monitor.

Cheapest ADC ADSCOPE 657 Electronic Stethoscope, Black

I appreciate the feel of the ADC Electronic Adscope. It was so attractive when I took it out of the case. I found it worked really well in the beginning. Sound seemed adequate and murmurs heard fairly easily. Found a few in patients in whom I had not detected them before. Seemed relatively well balanced except for the battery which, although placed about in the middle of the scope, many times caused the scoped to slip off my neck.

Having lived with it over a year (and no longer using it) I wanted to provide feedback for others looking to buy one.

1. It is not durable. I sent it back for repairs the diaphragm cracked and they fixed it free of charge. Took about 3 weeks.
2. Within 6 months the diaphram was broken again (cracked at the sensor.
3. The sound is not stable. As the batteries wear down, even before it warns you that batteries need to be replaced, it starts to crank the volume so that it is uncomfortable to use. When you replace batteries, fixes the problem.
4. Showed wear fairly quickly - the buttons wore off their arrows indicating volume level within a few months.

This is my second electronic stethoscope. When it broke the second time, I said "That's it" (or some unprintable words to that effect.) My first scope was a Philips and it also did not survive, requiring 2 visits to the shop (and then the graveyard) . I read a review on a Littman that fell apart after 3 years. I honestly feel that none of these scopes are durable enough to take the pounding of a good non-electronic Littman or Sprague-Rappaport (which I am now using again after 4 years with electronic). Much like cell phones, they seem to have a fairly limited lifespan.

I use an Apple Iphone and love it, especially its durability. We need to get Steve Jobs involved in this project and some real world testers, probably medical students that will beat the heck out of these scopes while they are in the testing phase, so they can survive the real world (the scopes not the medical students LOL).Get more detail about ADC ADSCOPE 657 Electronic Stethoscope, Black.

I have a rainbow canister that I have decided to retire do the intensive assembly required for its operation. You have to fill the tank with water then place it it's caddy, place the motor on top of tank and then attach the hose from the power head to the motor then plug in the power head to the main unit. Then do the reverse to empty the water from the tank. So I decided to get an upright that you can just plug in and go.

I'm not sold yet on the bag less uprights so I decided to go with the old tried and true one's with a bag. I first looked at the Eureka Upright Vacuum Cleaner 1934A, had an impressive review but no attachments and only a 5 amp motor and a little more than I wanted to spend.

Next I reviewed this Dirt Devil model, but with some trepidation, as I have always had this impression of substandard construction and performance.

I was surprised by all the positive reviews, it had the attachments I wanted except a floor tool as I have these dust bunnies from hell made up of dog hair in places the main motor can't reach; it has a powerful 12 amp motor compared again, to the 5 amp for the Eureka; so I decided to purchase the dirt devil and hold my breath.

When it arrived I found the instructions simple ( but the pictures in the instructions were to small) but had the impression I was assembling a kids toy at Christmas time. It required only 5 screws for it's assembly. The handle was made out of lightweight hollow plastic and the attachments have a cheap quality to them, but I was resigned to be objective and hold off any judgment until I actually had a chance to use it.

It has a foot pedal for off-on and another for lowering to a horizontal position; and a nice wrap around cord hooks which the top can swivel for ease of release.

Once started, the motor had a roar just slightly less than that of a Boeing 747 during take off.
It glided over my high-low carpet with ease ( it's self adjusting) and even handled this weaved runner in front of my sink area with ease, my Rainbow did not handle that runner very well. It would bounce and jerk and even pulled some of the weaving out; also my Rainbow would, on occasion, spit out these hairballs made of dog hair and carpet fuzz. The Dirt Devil hasn't so far. Performed excellent over bare floors.

In some reviews there has been some complaint of the effort necessary to extract the hose from the motor to use the attachments; this I to noticed. You have to twist and pull it from it's mounting down by the motor. I sprayed some dry silicone lubricant on the exterior of the neck where the hose would attach (see my customer pic) and that seemed to improve the effort necessary to remove it; after a few uses, I got the hang of it. Once you do have the attachments on,I was impressed of the suction it had. This puppy can suck the chrome off a trailer hitch. Another reviewer wrote " it looks cheap and screams cheap" I to agree but for 40 bx I was impressed with its performance overall, that is, if you can ignore it's light weight construction. I my opinion, the promotion of it being light weight is more of a Madison ave. attempt to rationalize it's construction.

If this Dirt Devil holds up for a few years, I'll consider it money well spent. Below are some stats I got off another website that may help with your decision on wither to purchase this model.

I know I have been critical of some features of this vacuum, but it you consider the cost divided by its over all features. Its money well spent. Would I purchase this model if I had to do it all over again, most definitely.
