But from looking at the box I have, it says "1 Kit" and shows the 10-test disc even stating on the box "10-Test Disc for No Strip Handling." This leads me to believe, and would anyone who wishes to order this product, that the disc is included.

But look at the lower left and it says, "Uses Ascensia Breeze 2 Blood Glucose Test Strips (Not Included)." The disc is definitely NOT included.

A "kit" without a disc doesn't help if you can't use it immediately to check your blood glucose levels. I personally don't mind buying the discs. Others might. I won't discourage anyone from buying this product. Just be aware that you will need to purchase the disc separately.

EDIT: Have received my test strips and performed my first blood glucose test. The meter is easy to set up and use.It doesn't require coding which is great for those of us who want one less thing to think about. Discs are easy to insert. Test strips come up easily. It does take some getting used to tho. You have to center the strip and your drop of blood exactly to be sure sample goes in. I've found the lancets for this meter are sharper and thinner than those for my previous meters. Still, this is so easy to use. Carrying case has plenty of room for testing supplies. I have used this for almost a year. I take daily readings and record/graph them. From what I have read, taking B/P at the wrist is less accurate than at the upper arm. So some inconsistancy is goes with sampling at the wrist. I have done comparisons with this monitor and a standard B/P cuff. Both at home and in the doctors office. My Samsung seems to consistantly read a bit low. Even with training and experience in using a B/P arm cuff there are variables make the readings subject to interpretation. So there does not seem to be a 100% accurate way measure B/P time after time.

So how is this usefull? By taking my B/P with this unit in a consistant manner, i.e. same body position, same time of the day, same wrist, etc. I get readings that are relevent to each other. I can detect trends up or down. Since this unit also measures pulse rate I get that feed back as well.

I keep this bedside. Upon waking in the morning while still relaxed, before coffee, etc. I take my B/P and pulse. The resting pulse rate is good feedback on whether I am overtraining and the B/P gives me info for my doctor.

Recommended with the caviot that one understands readings may not agree with B/P cuff. I purchased this in August 2008 to replace my failing Polar HR monitor. I have ridden my bike nearly 1500 miles since then and this thing is so unreliable that I have gone back to my failing, now less than reliable Polar.

It has always been difficult to use compared to other (Polar) monitors that I have had. The instructions are very poor and do not explain the features in much detail. It tells you how to set it up and the rest is up to you. Some features are obvious, others are not.

It does have the now standard calories burned nonsense (it is not accurate, but more a rough estimate.) It has a useless feature called a "fitness index" which, in this thing, is based on your age and the self-assessed "activity score" you enter. 2+ hours per week is high!!!!It also has a "lock" feature with which you can accidentally lock it from reading your HR. Hopefully you will have thoroughly read and memorized the manual or brought it along with you if you do so, because you won't likely be able to figure out the problem and how to solve it if you haven't.

Mine appears to be excessively sensitive to any electric interference. The maximum HR is always wrong---up to 230bpm---at times. This naturally distorts the average HR. This has happened every single ride I have been on with this thing, no matter the location; urban or rural. It does the same thing when I jog with it. The Polar models I have used show very few such false readings in the same areas.

It has began to fail completely this week--about 3 months after purchase. At items, I can no longer bring up the stopwatch feature. I will refuses to start measuring the heart rate. At other times, it cannot read any signal. Or it will read at over 220 bpm for an entire ride. A reset sometimes cures it at least temporarily, but then I have lost half of the data.

Even though Polar is nearly twice as expensive, and generally less than 100% reliable, the ones I have used surpass this by far. I will be trash-canning this one and going back to Polar. I love my Polar F60. I bought it to track my fitness on hikes and runs while on a trip in southwest Utah. And with it, I bought the Polar G1 GPS Speed and Distance Sensor. Alas. The shallowest of canyons had it flummoxed; the most unthreatening cliffs stymied it. On a given hike (or run) I would get mileages from 2.1 to 8.5 miles off from the established distances.
Coming home to New York City, I fared no better. Testing the G1 on daily Central Park runs of (tested) 3.7 miles, I got readings from 2.2 to 6 miles. (And according to the G1, I was running 12.3 miles per hour at my MAX - possible for some, perhaps, but not for me.) Pretty useless. Apparently the "four satellites" that are accessed need to be directly overhead.

I bought this watch as a tool to help me through my long runs. I was very happy, a nice looking watch to monitor my heart rate, and it came with free shipping.

What I didn't like is that about 33 days into ownership of the watch, it became unreliable. It worked sporadically, and was inaccurate giving me readings that were completely off. I contacted amazon about a return, but I was outside of the 30 days and they sent me to the manufacturer (rightfully so). I had to send it to the manufacturer and wait 2 solid weeks.

On the return, the manufacturer stated that the battery was flat (dead), and that the transmitter had low conductivity of electrodes (aka: didn't work). I would say this was a "lemon" but I have heard and read that this has happened to others, I didn't think it would happen to mine.

They fixed it and were fine to work with, but I was discouraged that my "free ship" really was not a free ship after all, I had to pay to ship the watch to the manufacturer. My thought is you might want to learn how long your watch has been sitting in the box before receiving it. The only place to fix this watch is thru the manufacturer.

It was slightly less efficient and slightly less clean sounding compared to the Omron. But you can look like a TV doctor, as this scope looks identical to the model worn by the doctors on the NBC TV show "Scrubs". In summary a decent stethoscope and a great fashion accessory.

Cons: The buttons get accidentally pushed, so I end up reseting it inadvertently. Worse, if the "mode" key is held down (which I also did inadvertently), it changes to metric. I never would have figured out how to change it back to miles if I hadn't thankfully kept the instructions. This is one fantastic pedometer! First and foremost, the ability to store up to seven days worth activity on the pedometer itself and additionally to be able to download and save all of your activity onto your computer make this pedometer extremely useful and practical. The included software is surprisingly robust and allows you to set all kinds of preferences, alarms, and activity goals; and also offers analysis of your activity versus goals, including graphs. You can use the accompanying base to upload your information or any USB A-B cable. This is great because I can leave my base at home, and use a regular USB cable at work and/or on my laptop without bringing a bulky base.

The pedometer is very compact - about as big as two quarters, but the display is very easy to read with large numbers and letters. It has a variety of modes that you can cycle through, and you can set preferences, goals, timers, alarms, etc. either on the pedometer itself or on the computer with the included software.

I find the pedometer to be nearly perfectly accurate, with no more than one step +/- off for every 100 steps or so - that's incredible! The pedometer is supposed to be able to differentiate between running steps and walking steps, and it does, but it doesn't seem to count my steps when I go jogging as running - only when I run at a faster pace. Since I prefer to jog to keep my impact low, this is the one drawback I've found with the device. Don't get me wrong, it still counts the steps, but when it uploads to the software, it counts my jogging steps as walking ones.

The pedometer is light, but also seems solidly built. The buttons are small, but easy to get used to, and the display is in a position that you can always see it without having to take it off of you first.

Overall, I am really pleased with the quality of the pedometer and the ability to use the goals and software makes it fun and encouraging to get out and stay active. It's really great to see you have met your goals for the day and are on your way to getting healthier. If I had to pick one word to describe this pedometer, I would say it would be "indispensable".

I bought this product because of a recommendation from a satisfied user. Within the first few days, I had highly recommended it to 2 others. But then a week after I received it, the pedometer stopped working! The stopwatch and clock functions still worked, and switching the battery did not help.
